A regional water provider

On the initiative of the French Ministry of Agriculture, the Société du Canal de Provence et d'Aménagement de la Région Provençale (SCP) was established in 1957 by three local authorities : the administrative districts of the Var, Bouches-du-Rhône and City of Marseille.

While SCP is a public company, with 85 % of its equity capital held  by local authorities in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, 15 % is held by private partners (Chambers of agriculture and banks). Its mission is to develop and manage regional water resources, in order to provide a safe and reliable water supply for agriculture, industry and domestic use.
